We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on accounting leader with a passion for process optimization and operational excellence. This role will take ownership of transactional accounting operations, oversee the month-end Close, and drive continuous process improvements. You will lead a dedicated accounting team, collaborating closely with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless financial operations. Additionally, you will play a critical role in audit and tax processes, leveraging an industry-specific ERP system to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Close & Reporting: Oversee and execute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to reporting deadlines. Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial roll-forwards to maintain precise financial records. Prepare consolidated financial reports, variance analyses, and trend insights to inform leadership decisions.
• Be a Strategic Business Partner: Go beyond traditional accounting by developing a deep understanding of the business. Collaborate with sales, procurement, HR, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams, providing financial insights, addressing accounting inquiries, and identifying trends that impact decision-making.
• Supervise Accounting Operations: Oversee Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and transactional accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial policies. Act as the point of contact for transactional processors, stepping in when necessary to process invoices or resolve issues.
• Ensure Compliance & Support Audits: Oversee sales tax filings, state agency payments, and regulatory reporting to ensure timely and accurate compliance. Play a critical role in audits and tax processes, coordinating with auditors and tax professionals to provide documentation and insights.
• Support Treasury & Cash Management: Assist in daily and weekly treasury functions, including processing wires, issuing checks, cash forecasting, and managing daily cash reporting to ensure strong liquidity and financial stability.
• Drive Process Optimization & Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting and reporting workflows. Work with shared services teams to optimize workload distribution, enhance cross-training, and build lean redundancies.
• Ensure Accurate Financial Transactions: Oversee financial coding and accuracy within ProducePro, the ERP system. Ensure timely completion of monthly account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Hands-On Leadership: Lead with a hands-on approach, whether reviewing financial statements, automating manual processes, or stepping in to assist with transactional accounting tasks as needed.

 Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, manufacturing background a plus.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
