Position: Quality Assurance Technician
Position Details
- Compensation: $21/hour
- Benefits: PTO, Medical, Dental, Short-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and 401(k)
- Perks: Free bag of produce every other week
- Shift: 2nd Shift
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM to end of shift (must be able to stay until work is completed)
Essential Functions
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our fresh cut products meet the highest standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting and maintaining food safety and quality assurance systems
- Monitoring production lines for compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards
- Conducting sanitation inspections and environmental/allergen swabbing
- Collecting environmental, microbial, and product samples
- Titrating PAA wash water levels; checking scale, thermometer, and metal detector functionality
- Accurately documenting and reporting quality data
- Communicating with production supervisors and managers regarding product issues
- Identifying and escalating non-conformances
- Verifying proper labeling, packaging, and product specifications
- Assisting with internal audits and third-party inspections
- Participating in root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Supporting quality and food safety training for production staff
- Maintaining calibration and verification records for QA equipment
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes and reduce waste
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Basic English writing and communication skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Reliable, accountable, and a strong team player
- Willingness to be cross-trained within the QA team
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food production or manufacturing
- Background in quality assurance or regulatory compliance
- HACCP, PCQI, or SQF certification
- Bilingual skills (Spanish, Somali, etc.)
- High school diploma or higher education
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a cold environment (34–42°F) – PPE provided
- Wet floors and surfaces – waterproof boots provided and required
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed
