Job Title:  Quality & Inventory Control  

Reports To: Operations Manager

Schedule: Monday – Friday 3:30 am– approximately 12pm

Department:   WPS Missouri      

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

 

Objective

To ensure optimal product quality and accurate inventory management by implementing robust quality control processes, monitoring stock levels, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. The role focuses on minimizing errors, reducing waste, and supporting efficient operations to meet customer and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.   

• Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories.

• Advise sales staff and buyers on quality and quantity issues of inventory.   

• Compile, review, and maintain data from contracts, purchase orders, requisitions, and other documents to assess supply needs.

  • Confer with sales and purchasing personnel and vendors regarding stock procurement and availability.   

• Receive and count stock items and record data manually or using computer.   

• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.   

• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.   

• Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.   

• Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.   

• Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
