Position: Safety and Facility Manager

Location: Wholesale Produce Supply, Minneapolis MN 

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety and Facility Manager to oversee the safety and security of our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety protocols, facility maintenance, and emergency preparedness. They will be responsible for developing and implementing safety procedures, conducting regular facility inspections, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize risks and maintain a safe workplace environment to minimize risks and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures
  • Keep abreast of changes in safety regulations and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws
  • Investigate and report on safety incidents, near misses, and compliance violations, and develop corrective action plans
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees to promote a culture of safety awareness
  • Manage facility maintenance and repair activities to ensure a clean, functional, and secure environment for employees and visitors
  • Oversee security measures, including access control, surveillance systems, and emergency response protocols
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures to address potential threats or crises
  • Implement facility maintenance programs to ensure the upkeep and functionality of all buildings
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues, safety hazards, and compliance gaps
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
  • Manage emergency response and evacuation procedures, including maintaining emergency kits and communication systems
  • Monitor and track facility-related expenses and budgeting for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
  • Collaborate with other departments, including HR, IT, and operations, to ensure alignment on facility and safety initiatives
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in facility management, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety compliance and facility management
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Certification in facility management or safety is a plus
