Maintenance Technician
JOB SUMMARY: Our growing fresh produce processing division is hiring a full-time maintenance technician / machine mechanic. The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment. Including but not limited to balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. This position must respond to all system failures and take appropriate corrective action by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently. The Plant Maintenance Technician will work independently on equipment that requires a high level of skill in hydraulics, electrical and diagnostics.
POSITION SPECIFICS
- Compensation Information: Up to $29/hr DOQ
- Schedule/Shift Information: This is typically a day shift position, with the need to occasionally work nights and weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Safely operate tools and equipment needed during the repair and servicing of equipment.
- Establish and adjust work procedures and preventative maintenance initiatives to meet production schedules and business needs. Clearly communicates all to Department and Production Managers.
- Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance and product quality.
- Support the daily production activities and plant sanitation functions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 2-5 years of maintenance experience.
- possess mechanical abilities and strong working knowledge of light industrial maintenance, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices
- be able to change motors, gearboxes, and perform preventative maintenance activities
- have electrical troubleshooting and repair skills of simple circuits, electrical knowledge of single phase/three phase power circuits, and the ability to read simple electrical schematics.
- the ability to work in conjunction with production team to determine equipment problems and repair times
PREFERRED QUALIFIFCATIONS AND SKILLS
- Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Required to use motor coordination with arms, hands, fingers, and legs.
- Required to engage in physical activity that includes pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting objects that weigh more than 30 lbs.
- Required to work from ladders or raised platforms.
- Required to stand or work on concrete floors most of the workday.
